Yes, but speculating is fun. I guess I have to defer to ol' Coop on what can and can't be done as a member of the House, but I'd have to imagine that he could be more effective in promoting fiscal sanity with a direct line to the President, than as one of many members of Congress, even if he did support him from the start.

(Or maybe I'm just longing for another bitterly contested primary that will tear apart the Davidson County Democratic establishment? Who knows.)
