Crafton Punishes Taxpayers

The Davidson County Election Commission met yesterday to formalize a date for the special election on two referendums. The referendum that started it all, the English First referendum, would help to kill foreign investment in Nashville; the second referendum, which would make it far easier to place charter amendments on the ballot, would more or less destroy the Metro Charter and make it easier for any group of wingnuts to put whatever piece of bigoted trash into our law.

At the Election Commission, the sponsor of this garbage, Eric Crafton, was given an opportunity to save taxpayer's money at a time of great fiscal constraint, by pushing this off until the next election cycle; but Councilman Crafton refused because he didn't want to give the opponents of this measure an opportunity to mount a campaign to inform voters of the dangers this poses for their jobs.

Essentially, if these two charter amendments pass, Crafton will go down as the single greatest job killer in the history of this City. But hey, its cool, his wife is Japanese. Maybe she can tell Nissan why their corporation isn't welcome here.
