Who's a Bigger Fibber?
William H. Hobbs is desperate to get the attention off of his disastrous VP nominee by pointing to an AP article which purports to debunk Biden's claims about his time overseas and/or in the Scranton, PA.
Claim: His helicopter was forced down between the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Fact: His helicopter was forced down, albeit by weather conditions, between the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan...Biden never claimed otherwise, but some people, desiring to show their bipartisan creds after weeks of pointing out the idiocy of Sarah Palin, bring this up as a real story.
Claim: While in Iraq, he was "shot at".
Fact: While in Iraq, ordinance went off near/by his barracks which shook the building. I doubt this is what many people had in mind when made the claim, but certainly had more veracity than Sarah America's claim to have said "thanks, but no thanks" on the Bridge to Nowhere.
Claim: Biden said at an event, "Hope you won't hold it against me, but I am a hard coal miner - anthracite coal, Scranton, Pennsylvania, that's where I was born and raised."
Fact: If you are a hyper-literal douche, you could probably assume Biden was claiming to have personally worked the mines all of his life, but as the AP reporter noted, "Biden mentioned his great-grandfather, a mining engineer who became a state senator in the early 1900s."
That is sort of like 45 year old College Football fans with beer guts who say "we won" a game, when in fact they probably never even went to the college they are rooting for.

You get more and more amusing. Left Scranton at age 10. I've got friends from Deleware, never really mentioned Scranton till recently. Which is by the way my neighborhood. We should just be happy he's not plagerizing. Keep the jokes coming.
The nice thing about trying to figure out if Joe's qualified for President is that voters have had two opportunities to reject him and have.
Wow TC, it sounds like you are struggling more everyday to justify your support for McCain.
Regardless, I don't imagine Joe Biden ever had much reason to mention his Scranton roots in Delaware, but now that he is trying to win votes in the state he was born in, shockingly, it comes out more.
Just like when Hillary played up her Scranton roots when she visited her papaw's cabin when she was a youngster. Even though she was born and raised in Chicago.
No gave up on McCain long ago. Just the hyperbole of honest Joe kills me. Here's Mr super qualified who never finished in the top three for president. Please, it doesn't really matter, but the man insinuated that he'd been shot down. Like you mentioned if its good enough for Hillary its good enough for Joe.
Well, not to belabor the point (my new favorite phrase), but Hillary said that she was dodging sniper fire and had to sit on her flak jacket during the landing of the plane.
Biden said his plane was forced down. Granted, someone might infer that he was suggesting it was forced down by terrorists, but he never said that.
TC: "Insinuated" says who? Just because you may have inferred as much does not change the fact that he never uttered what you say he implied.
By definition there is no objective way to prove your argument unless you are one of those amazing mind readers whom we hear so much of these days, telling us what people "really meant."
What a waste of time.

Ok this is funny. A few posts up Sean tells us what McCain supporters are thinking. Sean is an amazing mind reader!
What is funny, jim?
There is no objective way to prove that is exactly what they are thinking either.
What Sean read into their statements is rather unremarkable in its obviousness. Of course they lose if they lose those states. I am sure they are aware of this fact . . . whether or not they were insinuating as much in said comments . . . I don't much care and see little relevant equivalence.
Maybe I am just no fun.
