Tickled Pink
Ray Barrett, the Election Administrator for Davidson County, is "tickled pink" at the idea of offering campaign finance records in digital format, as opposed to the current policy of requiring people to trek down to the election commission in order to look up the records of local elected officials.
The State Legislature could quite easily open up the TREF records system to the local election commissions in order to allow for digital compliance; I'd say Stacey Campfield should sponsor some legislation to that effect, but I kinda want to see it passed.

Having filled out disclosures in my campaign for Council, the opportunity to do in in an electronic form would have save hours of work. With the system set-up for the state, it is hard to see why it can not be ported to local elections.
