Hold The Gravy On Them Biscuits
'Cause everything is related to politics...I think it would be interesting to map out the correlation between obesity rates and political inclinations this fall. Though, it may have more to due with age than anything else. In the map below on obesity rates nationwide, Colorado ranks the lowest, but this likely has to due with it having one of the youngest populations in the nation.
Tennessee ranked third in the nation for obesity, a position that hasn't changed much in years of measuring the nation's weight problem.
Mississippi has had the highest obesity rate every year in the CDC's annual survey since 2004. But Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia and Louisiana have clustered near the top of the list, often so close that the difference between their rates and Mississippi's may not be statistically significant.

Not to take away from the argument that the state of Tennessee has some major eating problems,
I am 27, 6 foot 2 and 253 pounds. My BMI is 32, which actually makes me obese.
My overall health is pretty good. I eat right, exercise and work to control my blood sugar (I am a Type 1 diabetic).
The 'current' BMI scale is not really current, it is almost 200 years old.
Due in part to changes in lifestyles and body archetypes since 1830, if a person had a 'healthy' BMI of 12 to 15, you would be extremely underweight.
I'm Not saying the facts show that we have a problem with food choices in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee, but the BMI chart is a poor definer of obesity in America.
Now I am going to go eat some pigs feet......
