Guilt By Association, Local Style
Well, this isn't exactly the kind of support you'd be looking for in a Democratic primary. Jon Crisp, the mudslinging former Chairman of the Davidson County Republican Party, has started a little blog of his own, and he's using it to trash Mike Stewart and talk up that piece of "eyecandy," Eric Stansell.
I suppose if you were going to base your vote/support on the people who support the candidate, I'd say Bob Clement and Jon Crisp trump any corporate shillin' attorney you could muster up from Waller Lansden. But a candidate is not the sum of his or her supporters, so it ranks pretty low on my totem poll in terms of issues I'd be voting on if I lived in the district.

When did the Nashville Post pay you off? We know they are a front for Waller, just look at all of the advertisements on their web page. But it seems you have taken a turn in the last day or two. Just to refresh your memory from last week.
"When it comes to the race between Stansell and Stewart, I really don't have a dog in that hunt. I don't live in the district, and if I did, I would be torn between the two, as I think they are both pretty good candidates...and I might even lead towards Stansell just because he's the underdog."
This quote probably makes another local supporter that makes Stansell guilty by association.

I'm not supporting or opposing either opponent, but I will give my opinion on things that happen on a day-by-day basis. And, it is my opinion, that Clement or Crisp are worse than some lawyers at Waller Lansden...but that wouldn't be a factor in who I'd support. If that were the case, I never would've given Stansell the time of day having found out he worked for Clement. But I've gotten to know him a little bit and I think he's a great guy who'd make a good legislator.
