DCYD Elections

Day late and a dollar short on this one...I meant to post this yesterday.

The DCYD's held their elections Wednesday night and Matia Powell has been elected the President of the Davidson County Young Democrats. She replaces outgoing President Addison Pate, who led the organization for a year and a half, and was proud of the fact that youth voter turnout in the 2007 mayoral election was at its highest point of all time (without which, Bob Clement might've been our Mayor).

Matia has been Vice President under Addison Pate's leadership, and she will continue voter outreach programs and try to expand the scope of the organization. Other officers elected:

John Little - Vice President
Mary Beth Ikard - Treasurer
Danielle Norton - Secretary
Claudia Weaver - At-large
Anthony Davis - At-large
Addison Pate retains the past-President seat on the board.
