And The Winner Is...

The City Cafe in Murfreesboro sees no problem with the intersection of sweet tea and politics; thus during every election cycle they hold a straw poll to figure out who will win the upcoming races on the ballot. Well the results are in for the August 7th primary, and it appears that Jean Anne Rogers will win handily in the Democratic primary for the 16th district, to go up against Republican Jim Tracy.

Other notables:

Tim Tipps beats out Rich Parks for the Dem primary in district 48, and Lou Ann Zelenik wins on the Republican side.

Of course, I'd recommend the losers of that straw poll don't cash in their chips just yet...Barack Obama won the straw poll earlier this year, followed by John Edwards and Hillary Clinton in a distant third. Though, to their credit, they did pick the winner of the overall primaries; John McCain and Barack Obama.
