Pinkston Stokes The Fires

It appears that Will Pinkston wants to keep the fires going between the Waller Landsen bunch and the Governor's office...this time sharing with Matt Pulle an email James Weaver sent after the Wal-mart dust-up.

One wonders (and by one I mean myself) if Bredesen is green-lighting Pinkston's conversations with the Scene, considering the Governor generally tries to keep the boats from rocking.

Also, Pulle says that Tom Lee is "allegedly" a Democrat...while I don't always see eye-to-eye on candidates, he's about as Democrat as you get in this state.

Sean, I think if you lobby on behalf of closing a tax loophole for the very rich and because of that lawmakers raid a state fund for the wetlands protection, you're not exactly staying true to the Democratic party's ideals.

What would Al Gore do?

Al Gore would write a book, make a few million, and not have to worry about getting paid via lobbying.

Somehow I doubt Tom Lee volunteered to lobby on behalf of this issue pro-bono; sound like he was hired, and he did his job. Its up to the legislature to do the right thing, not the lobbyists.

So would you take a job that violated one of the core precepts of your party? I mean Lee is not a white collar slave. He could turn down a gig every now and then.

Eh, there are levels...I don't know that lobbying against a tax increase would be a huge moral dilemma...was it Lee's decision to get the money from the wetlands fund?
