Obama on America
Sen. Obama gave a pretty good speech today in Missouri on the topic of "patriotism". In it, he wove in past experiences with his family, watching the Astronauts come ashore in Hawaii with his Grandfather, or being taught about the Declaration of Independence by his mother in Indonesia. To him, "patriotism is always more than just loyalty to a place on a map or a certain kind of people. Instead, it is also loyalty to America’s ideals – ideals for which anyone can sacrifice, or defend, or give their last full measure of devotion."
A pretty good (if lengthy) read.
