Back In The Saddle

Did you miss me? No, didn't know I was gone...oh well, whatever. Just wanted to take a point of personal privilege and congratulate my Mom, Anne, who graduated with honors from The Ohio State University this weekend after seven years of hard work all while raising my two younger brothers...she intends to become a Special Ed teacher.

Brian Williams spoke to the graduating class Sunday, in blazing hot 90 degree weather in the OSU Shoe, with a mere 6000+ graduates in attendance, along with about 15,000 of their friends and family. It was a good commencement speech, with a lot of jokes aimed at Michigan (the favorite past time in Ohio), and your traditional inspiring message about working hard, volunteering, etc... Gordon Gee, back as President of OSU, said that he was glad to be back after 10 years in the wilderness (guess he thinks highly of Vanderbilt).

While I was gone, S-town Mike followed the idiocy that is Eric Crafton's English First ordinance; Goldni followed the idiocy of the President of the Knox County Young Democrats, and Adam Kleinheider followed the idiocy of Glen Dean who thinks the word "we" is Marxist.

What I really miss is someone stickin' it to ole Billy-Boy Hobbschnobber and his band of merry idgets. I like that you do it with just a smidgen of [undeserved] respect that I myself can not muster.

Going back to college is rough. You have every right to be proud of her. My mom did the same thing.

Now why don't you tell us about that speech you heard. From what I gather it was pretty interesting. Broken Country? Hate to ask you to fix it? Bloggers start thinking about the collective. Damn...intriging

I didn't really have any deep thoughts on the matter, but the video is online if you are interested.
