What I Meant To Say...

Barack Obama, just hours before his now infamous bitter/cling comment, had this to say about guns:

"We need sensible gun laws," said the Senator. "I just got back from Montana where just about everyone has guns. In that culture, fathers and sons bond over hunting. You can't take that away from rural America. But the inner city is different, and we should tighten the laws on gun purchases and close the loopholes in gun show sales to unscrupulous buyers. The gun control people and the right to bear arms people are talking past each other about disconnected topics."

Indeed, while his reference to the gun show "loophole" will undoubtedly anger Say Uncle, I don't think very many people would take offense to this comment.

In other news, Michael Silence is having a hard time keeping an open mind towards Barack Obama after revelations that he (and his speechwriters) makes mistakes.

Interesting. What if a white candidate had said the same thing, or worse a white Republican? Problem?

They'd be praised as a "maverick".

I was unaware that there was some sort of 'inner city' exemption to the right to arms.

And you guys still can't figure out why those dumb, cousin-humping rednecks won't vote for him? Obviously, it's the racism!

So you think Appalachians are voting for Hillary because she is pro-gun? If that is the case, then they are dumbass cousin-humping rednecks because their policies towards guns are nearly indistinguishable.

Personally, I think they're voting hillsy because she's pandered to them more.

Maybe, though Appalachians had been supporting Hillary by wide margins back when she was a center-left policy wonk; and before she became a whiskey pounding, gun toting, southern populist.

What a great primary for those who love to belittle.

If West Virginians had voted for Barack, they'd be cousin humping sexist rednecks who believe the proper place for women is barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen.

But, since they voted for Hillary, they're cousin humping racist rednecks who lynch blacks for entertainment on the weekends.

You couldn't ask for a better primary contest from the perspective of liberals who condemn any bigotry except their own.
