Looking Towards the Future
While Hillary Clinton is walking around the Democratic party saturating it with gasoline and pulling out her zippo; Barack Obama seems intent on putting the Democratic party in a position to win in November.
The page is reporting on two plans by Sen. Obama. One is to launch a voter registration drive in all 50 states, targeting potential democratic voters (with all the voter registration drives over the past few years, I can't believe there are still unregistered voters) to build our base for the fall.
The other is a deal being worked out between the Obama campaign and the DNC to setup a joint fundraising agreement, which would help bring Obama's massive online fundraising appeal to the Democratic party.
On a side note, it appears that stimulus checks will start going out next week, and I'm kind of curious what kind of effect this might have on the candidates fundraising? Will their be a "Stimulus for Obama/Clinton" movement?
Update:
The voter registration drive will begin on Saturday, May 10th, and the "Vote for Change" event in Nashville will be at 10:30AM:
Centennial Park Picnic Area (Nashville, TN)
301 25th Ave N.
Nashville, TN 37203
