Three Card Monty

Hey, does anyone know if Monty Lankford, the would-be Republican challenger to Lincoln Davis, is a patriotic Christian? Oh, have no fear, his new web videos proves he is...after all, who else would have a giant cross on their coffee table, and an American flag sitting in the middle of their living room, other than a patriotic Christian American?

For those unawares, it seems as if the GOP has found a challenger to go up against Lincoln Davis in the 4th Congressional seat in November. What is somewhat amazing to me though, is that even though Lincoln Davis represents 24 counties, and 10,000 square miles...they had to go to Marsha Blackburn's district to find someone willing to challenge him. Yes, Ol' Montague lives in a nice 1.5 million dollar home in Franklin, TN, outside of the 4th District and comfortably within Marsha's 7th district, where he is the 2nd Vice Chairman of the Williamson County GOP.

Of course, it doesn't matter where you live so long as you "represent" the districts views, and as such, Monty thinks "[t]he government wastes too much money," "[w]e can’t tax our way to prosperity," and just in case there was ANY doubt about what Montague believes:

I am not ashamed to say that I have used the Bible for a moral compass most of my life. It is my number one guide. I will never veer from that model when contemplating decisions that affect you. You might say, “Monty, why so much emphasis on your religious beliefs?”, well my friend, it’s about direction.

Who doesn't have a huge American flag pole in their living room? Sean, you gotta stop being such a square and get with the program. ;)

I don't have a flag visible in my house, though I do have many inanimate elephants on display, along with one toy donkey wearing blinders. Also, as I've mentioned, I've had Buddhist and other Eastern temple pressings hanging in my living room, for which I was chastised by some Jehovah's Witnesses who insisted on being invited in one day. And my mother regularly calls my stone Buddha on the patio an idol.

That's pretty much all I have to share about religion on display, and I'm not religious.

I'm taking a break from the usual politics and planning to help with an embryonic blog about growth and development in Maury County. So much corruption, so little time.

There's only one way to stop the corruption in Washington. What we need is a revolution. This November, tell Washington "The PARTY is OVER." Vote Independent. http://ragsdaleforcongress.com
