The Kleinheider Finds a Home
I thought it would be a no-brainer, and apparently it was, the Nashville Post has hired Adam Kleinheider:
Adam "A.C." Kleinheider, who until recently ran the respected VolunteerVoters.com site for WKRN-TV News 2, will on Monday join NashvillePost.com to augment the site’s breaking news coverage with a political blog.
Kleinheider ran VolunteerVoters.com for almost two years, amassing a loyal readership of local business and political leaders with his aggregation of and commentary on political blogs from all corners of Tennessee.
Kleinheider’s work will supplement the political reporting of NashvillePost.com veteran Ken Whitehouse, who among other stories recently broke the news that John Wilder will retire.
“We’re excited about bringing on board A.C., whose skills and network are a terrific addition to our team,” said Geert De Lombaerde, associate editor of NashvillePost.com. “Diversifying our content with his aggregation experience will cement our place as the premier source for Nashville-area political news and views.”
Kleinheider, who spent his formative years in New Jersey and Connecticut, moved to Nashville to earn a bachelor’s in political science at Vanderbilt University. He has been actively blogging since early 2005 and massed almost 15,000 posts in less than two years of running Volunteer Voters.
“There is no better place for me to land than NashvillePost.com,” Kleinheider said. “Quite simply, the site is a must-read for local political news and I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to its growth.”
It will be interesting to see what form takes place, and whether he'll be free to give his unique paleo-conservative populist opinions, that were muzzled at that news station whose name is not to be spoken.

More importantly, will you have to be a subscriber to read it? I don't think many people are going to pay to read Kleinheider.
That - whether one will have to be a subscriber - is a big question. Another is whether he will link to posts by other area bloggers. I don't think the print media is using blogs the right way. Nashville Post is not the print media... should be interesting. Good to see Klondike able to transfer his skills and contribute again on the regional level.
I love ACK, but I'm not paying for him. Drop the subscription nonsense, Nashville Post. This is the freaking internet, after all.
I'm not sure how welcome my comments would be at that site, given its business orientation and my views on growth and development, including immigration control. But K needs a job and needs to stay in the game. We'll see how it evolves, just as the TV job did.
The interplay between Whitehouse and Kleinheider may well be worth the price of admission. Milt Capps (NP.com alum)
