Pate for President
Addison Pate, former campaign manager for Bill Morrison, is running to replace outgoing President of the Davidson County Young Democrats, Craig Dulniak:
My Fellow Americans...
Ok, perhaps that's a bit much.
My fellow Nashvillians...
This is an interesting time to be living in Davidson County. Everyday more people are moving to Middle Tennessee and finding out what an amazing city Nashville can be. This metropolis is on the cusp of greatness, ready to take that next step in its evolution, and we have a front row seat for the event. Now, more than ever, Davidson County needs quality leaders who understand the need for balance between the coming tide of change and the serenity of tradition. So tomorrow evening, December 13th, 2006, I will put my name in and run for President of the Davidson County Young Democrats.
As the DCYDs it is our duty to make sure we support leaders who are champions of Democratic ideals. We must give of our time and energy to help give back to this community we live in. Our purpose is to bring together the many different faces of the Democratic Party and to offer common ground on which to build a bigger Democratic family. If the DCYDs commit to that purpose we build the next generation of Democrats to lead our party in the coming years. For our group to do that, we must have a leader willing to listen, willing to lead, and willing to serve. I believe that I can be that leader.
So this Wednesday I am running to be a leader that works to build our group and create a foundation for the future.
I'm running for president because I believe this organization is in a position to help bring real change to Davidson County. I'm running for president because I believe the DCYD members are ready to take on new challenges in the upcoming elections.
I'm running for president because I believe I am a leader who realizes that the Davidson County Young Democrats does not operate by one person's choices or beliefs, but rather the cooperation and innovation of all its members.
We are a family, and we must work together as a family if we are to succeed.
So on December 13th I ask that all Young Democrats, from Rivergate to Antioch, Bellevue to Hermitage, come out and vote in the DCYD Special Election. And when you come I would appreciate your vote. Together we will make a difference in Nashville.
If anyone out there is a dues paying member of the DCYDs (or would like to be) come out to 1800 Porter Rd., Nashville, TN 37206 Wednesday at 6PM to vote for Addison.
